It was a tough afternoon for the Malvern Colts vs a very good Kidderminster team.
Playing on the second team pitch, Malvern were up hill in the first half and were soon behind following a strong opening from Kidderminster.
This was a pattern that continued for the next 20 minutes, with Kidderminster dominating both territory and possession, with good handling and running skills.
Kidderminster scored a further two try’s during this period to lead 21-0.
Despite the difficult start Malvern did eventually find their feet and following some good passing, Tom scored in the corner, with Conor converting from the touch line.
With momentum changing Malvern quickly scored a second try via Ryan to make the half time score 14-21.
Playing down the hill hopes were high for a strong second half by Malvern, but this wasn’t to be the case.
A few too many handling errors and missed passes led to Kidderminster scoring a three more try’s before with the last play of the game and from their own try line, Malvern did show what they were capable of with a good passage of play finished off by Jay under the posts to make the final score 19-41 to Kidderminster.
Well played both teams. A couple of shout outs.
Firstly to Max, who went off injured with a suspected dislocated shoulder - get well soon Max and secondly to Elliot, who played his first game of rugby for several years - we think U10s.
It was great to see you back.
